| · What is the banning procedure? Note the following applies to regular members only. Spammers/streat teamers
have no rights and are simply banned immediately, without question and often
ridiculed by the mods.
All members get 3 warnings, before they are banned.
Once the warning limit is reached, the member shall receive a temporary ban,
lasting from 3 days, to up to 1 week, depending on the severity of the situation.
At this point there will be a discussion among the moderators on whether to
ban this member permanently, should they offend again. If the majority of moderators/admins
agree, then it shall be so. The admins are no longer are allowed to permanently
ban a regular member, without a discussion among the moderators! This was done
to make the system more fair and to not centralize all banning decisions onto
any 1 person, like in the past.
Now for the addition to the system: If a member is given a "permanent
ban", they are able to appeal this decision. Each member is entitled to
only 1 appeal, if they are banned again, they will NOT get another. Below is
as an outline of the appeals procedure, which we (the mod team) have recently
tested out:
Quote:
"A banned member can appeal the decision from any time, until 4 months
after the event. After that, a 2nd chance may be possible, upon discussion among
the mods, but this will be entirely at the discretion of a Forum admin and can
NOT be counted on.
The appeal has to be submitted to an admin, via e-mail. The admin will then
post this to the moderators and a decision shall be made. If the majority agree,
then the appeal will be accepted and the member allowed to return. If not, then
the appeal will be rejected and the decision will be final!
In addition to submitting an appeal request, the member also has to construct
a letter of apology and send it to an admin via e-mail. This letter has to apologise
to the board in general and to the mods/admins. This apology letter will be
posted publicly, if a member's appeal has been accepted."
After a successful appeal, this member's warning limit will be 1, depending
upon the severity of the matter. There will be no discussion nor temporary ban,
should they exceed this limit, as the discussion has already been done in the
past, so they'd be banned permanently, without appeal. [ Back to Top ]
